COSTA MESA
Tustin Avenue: A 71-year-old man reported that bills were stolen from
his mailbox in the 1800 block Saturday.
Crestmont Place: Police are investigating a report Sunday of a vehicle
burglary. A 23-year-old man told police he thought his friend left the
passenger-side door unlocked on his black Chevrolet Camaro. About $1,400
of stereo equipment was reported missing, including the stereo, speakers
and three amplifiers.
19th Street: A grand theft was reported Sunday outside of 24 Hour
Fitness at 555 W. 19th St. A 36-year-old man told police the lock on his
mountain bike was cut. A loss of $400 was reported.
East 17th Street: An assault with a deadly weapon was reported in the
400 block Sunday.
Orange Avenue: Police responded to a report of a prowler in the 1500
block Sunday.
NEWPORT BEACH
Grand Canal: A grand theft was reported in the 2200 block at 10 p.m.
Saturday. A pink kayak worth $1,000 was stolen from a private dock.
48th Street and Seashore Drive: A bicycle said to be worth $350 was
reportedly stolen at 1:09 p.m. Saturday.
50th Street and Neptune Avenue: A battery was reported at 9 a.m.
Saturday. A 31-year-old man was hit in the face by an unknown suspect.
East Coast Highway: A petty theft was reported in the 2500 block at 2
p.m. Saturday. A designer armchair was stolen from a furniture store.
Honors Drive: Vandalism was reported at 4 p.m. Friday. A stone water
fountain worth $300 was broken into three pieces.
