Marine biologists have invited families and others interested in
exploring marine life to participate in Bay Discovery Day at Shellmaker
Island on Saturday.
The scientists are offering a program that will include four stations
where participants can look at creatures from Upper Newport Bay.
The stations will include the largest and smallest creatures living in
the bay -- birds, plankton, crabs and fish.
The event will be held at the Marine Studies Center on Shellmaker
Island. It is scheduled to run from 9 to 11 a.m.
The island is located along Back Bay Drive about a quarter-mile north
of the intersection of Back Bay and Jamboree Road.
