There won’t be any answers soon in the daytime shooting death of a
Newport Beach man in a crowded Costa Mesa parking lot.
On Friday, the arraignment of Ramadan Dokovic, 42, of Downey in the
slaying of Miroslav Maric, 48, was continued until July 16 at Harbor
Justice Center in Newport Beach.
Costa Mesa police said the two men were sitting in a Mercedes Benz
convertible when they got into an argument and Maric was shot at least
twice May 18 in the parking lot of a Jack in the Box at 17th Street and
Tustin Avenue.
Maric was admitted to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana in critical
condition and died May 22 after being taken off life support.
Police have not disclosed any information regarding the connection
between Dokovic or Maric or a motive for the shooting.
