Softball: Lions’ trio named to All-Region 2 squad

Three Vanguard University softball players, Andrea Saucedo, Gina

Liebengood and Celina Camarillo, were named to the All-Region 2 team.

The trio were previously named to the All-Golden State Athletic

Conference as well.

Saucedo led the Lions in nearly every offensive category this season,

including batting average (.341), hits (61), runs (37), and triples

(nine).

Liebengood is a two-time All-Region 2 selection. She pitched 199 1/3

innings and racked up 196 strikeouts, 11 shutouts and 19 wins.

Camarillo batted cleanup for the Lions and posted the team’s second

highest batting average (.320). She tied for the team lead in doubles

with eight and was second on the team with five triples. She also posted

a 2-1 record in 35 innings as a Lions’ pitcher.
