WHAT HAPPENED:
The board approved a lease agreement with the Huntington Beach Union
High School District for the Fountain Valley Elementary School site at
17911 Bushard St., Fountain Valley.
WHAT IT MEANS:
With the demolition of the Building No. 300 at Fountain Valley High
School, the high school district needed additional space to relocate
students and teachers during the demolition and reconstruction of the
building.
The district has negotiated a one-year lease for the Fountain Valley
Elementary School site, beginning July 1 and ending June 30, 2002.
The district now leases the school to Rossier Junior and Senior High
School.

WHAT HAPPENED:
The board approved the lease purchase of five modular classrooms for
Fulton, Masuda and Talbert middle schools.
WHAT IT MEANS:
Sue Bohlen, director of the extended school program, has applied for
and received CalWORK Incentive Funds for the lease purchase of the
modular classrooms for the three middle schools.
The funds will cover the lease purchase payments for the five-year
period, with the buildings becoming the property of the district at the
conclusion of the lease.

IN FAVOR
WHAT HAPPENED:
The board approved to advertise a bid for the painting of the closed
Lamb Elementary School site.
WHAT IT MEANS:
The district will lease Lamb school to the Huntington Beach Union High
School District for the 2001-2002 school year. The high school district
asked that the site be painted and have agreed to reimburse the Fountain
Valley district for all costs related to the project.

NEXT MEETING
The Fountain Valley School District board is scheduled to meet at 7:30
p.m. April 12 in the district board room, 17210 Oak St., Fountain Valley.
