Blauer on target, keeping Padres unbeaten
- Share via
Chad Blauer was at the top of his game Saturday and the Padres used
that performance to stay unbeaten on the season as they scored a 5-2
victory over the Astros in Fountain Valley Youth Baseball Pony Division
action.
Blauer came back from an early 1-0 deficit by striking out 13 over
five innings of work. He surrendered just three hits, one of which was
Tyler Killian’s two-out single, which scored Jonathan Harada to give the
Astros their short-lived 1-0 lead.
The Padres struck back in the fourth inning with two runs behind Rory
Jones’ RBI single and a RBI by Justin Ballew.
In the sixth, they added an insurance run when Kyle Goodman singled
and scored on Erick Koon’s two-out double.
Ballew paced the Padres with two singles.
Thomas Stadfelt and Matt Hutchinson each singled for the Astros.
