Police are warning parents that razor blades are being placed on
slides at Heller Park in the 200 block of East 16th Street.
Officers found three blades placed on each of the slides in the park
Friday morning, said Costa Mesa Police Sgt. Gary McErlain. He said police
had received complaints about another razor blade and pornographic
material placed on one of the slides last week.
“We thought that could’ve been a one-time incident,” said McErlain.
But Friday morning’s finding made it clear that somebody was out to
either hurt children or make the blades available to them, he said.
Police are investigating the matter as a child endangerment case, said
McErlain.
