Boys golf: Mustangs down after one half

COSTA MESA - Costa Mesa High’s Bryce Sheridan medaled, finishing

with a 40, but the Mustangs trail, 219-245, to Calvary Chapel after one

half of a nonleague match at Costa Mesa Golf and Country Club’s Mesa

Linda Golf Course Tuesday.

Mesa junior Billy Lund shot a 41 on the par-35 course, while Michael

Gardiner and Brian Beach contributed a 53 and 55, respectively. Brian

Anderson scored a 56 for the Mustangs (1-1).

Calvary Chapel did not have any player shoot over 45.

The match was scheduled earlier in the season, but was rained out. The

second half of the match will resume according to weather and will be

announced by Mesa.
