A little nostalgia here and there can be wonderful. But let’s admit
it. Whoo7 isn’tf7 dying to find out what a Dennis Rodman-style Josh
Slocum’s restaurant will be all about.
Well, at least one woman, who shall remain nameless, seemed to agree
with us. Although the Worm hasn’t even applied his finishing touches to
the seafood joint, she had to take a peek. Completely drunk, that is.
“We weren’t even open for business yet,” said Kevin Finegold, the
restaurant’s owner. “And some woman walked in from the street and passed
out.”
Finegold’s employees first tried the nice approach. They ordered her a
cab to get her home. When that didn’t work, they called in the cops, who
arrested the woman on suspicion of disorderly conduct under the influence
of alcohol at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday and took her away to sleep it off.
For those of you who haven’t been keeping up with the biggest news in
town, Finegold’s a buddy of Rodman’s. The glamorous ex-basketball star
helped out with some cash to give Josh Slocum’s a new coat of paint and
add a couple of leopard skin chairs.
Finegold said that he’s open for business and still serves the old
menu, adding that Rodman’s vision for the remodeled place is fast coming
to fruition.
Don’t worry. We’ll tell you when it’s ready. And if you don’t want to
check out the planned “nouveau Latino cuisine” for yourself, we’ll gladly
do it for you. Or had you already figured that one out?
