A gold-colored, fiberglass eagle and its mount was stolen from
Estancia High School last week.
The theft, which happened between 4 p.m. Feb. 13 and 7 a.m. Feb. 14,
was reported to police Thursday by Assistant Principal Stephen Benigo.
Estancia High School glued the eagle’s bolts to prevent them from
being unscrewed from the mount after Costa Mesa High School students
unbolted and stole the eagle last year.
This time, the wall bolts were unscrewed and the mount was stolen
along with the eagle.
The eagle is valued at $2,000.
No witnesses have come forward, police said.
