Baseball: Lions sweep past Northwest Nazarene

COSTA MESA - The Vanguard University baseball team defeated
Idaho’s Northwest Nazarene University, 5-4, and, 9-3, Thursday in a
nonleague doubleheader Thursday.
In the opener, Anthony Walker went 2 for 2 with a home run and three
RBIs. Samuel Baeder and Jeremy Isherwood each had RBI hits, while Marcus
Harris threw five strong innings to pick up the win for Vanguard (6-3).
In the nightcap, Andy Riddell went 3 for 4 with a double, home run and
four RBIs, while Walker and Matt Tisthammer combined for four hits and
five runs scored.
