Hotshots cruise to victory, 42-29

The Fountain Valley Hotshots came up with their best all-around team
performance of the season Sunday and cruised to a 42-29 victory over
South Huntington Beach in a girls’ Division I National Junior Basketball
contest.
Behind a stifling team defense, the Hotshots built a 17-point lead,
and were never threatened.
The team came up with 12 total assists, 17 steals and 29 rebounds.
Individually, Miranda Baker scored 18 points and had seven steals,
Crystal Perez had 16 points with six rebounds and five steals, and Amanda
Cecil and Kimberly Rhoten each had seven rebounds.
The Hotshots improved to 4-1 overall.

* Electricity 25, Lightning 24
The South Huntington Beach Lightning led throughout the contest, but
Eileen Flanagan’s jump shot went through the net as time expired, lifting
the South Huntington Beach Electricity to the victory.
Flanagan led the Electricity with 12 points, while Anna Storti added
six points.
Arion Ingram scored eight points and Bree Willotson had six points to
lead the Lightning.
