HARBOR LIGHTS: The 92nd Christmas Boat Parade will light up Newport
Harbor from Dec. 17 to 23 with more than 150 vessels, multimillion dollar
yachts, kayaks, canoes and other small boats beautifully decked with
lights, animated Christmas scenes, music and costumed carolers.
Now is the time to make your plans to view the boat parade. One can
watch the parade from the beaches and public access areas on the 14-mile
parade route, such as the Sea Scout Base or American Legion Hall; from
bayfront restaurants like the Villa Nova, the Riverboat and Newport
Landing; yacht clubs like the Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club or Balboa Yacht
Club, or from a charter boat.
Sponsored by the Southern California Gas Co. and Dyson and Dyson Real
Estate Associates and hosted by the Commodores Club of the Newport Harbor
Area Chamber of Commerce, the parade starts off Collins Island at 6:30
p.m. and finishes at the same site at approximately 8:30 p.m. The
seven-day parade, which has been hailed by the New York Times as one of
the top 10 holiday happenings in the nation, will attract more than a
million visitors to the harbor, who come to enjoy the splendor of the
event.

Commerce at 1470 Jamboree Road, Newport Beach, or by calling (949)
