The Orange Coast United Rush girls’ Under-12 Division soccer club
extended its winning streak to 10 games last weekend, defeating JUSA
Select 88 of Anaheim, 3-0, and PSC Power of Riverside, 5-1.
Sammie Castillo started the scoring, heading in Courtney Anderson’s
corner kick in Saturday’s win over JUSA Select 88. Anderson added the
second goal, also off a corner kick, and Cindy Mendoza closed out the
scoring with a goal assisted by Castillo.
On Sunday, Amy Staudinger scored off an assist from Robin Ibbetson to
give the Orange Coast Rush a 1-0 lead. Goals by Brittany Koster,
Ibbetson, Sasha Key and Anderson completed the 5-1 victory.
As usual, the Orange Coast Rush came up with stellar defensive
performances led by Amanda Shaw, Tori Rocke, Elyse VanLeer, Jennifer
Powell, Brianna Baker, Chelsea Wisdom and Jaque Anderson.
