1. Eating is good for you. Chefs will cook for a cure at Maggiano’s
Little Italy’s amateur chef cook-off from 8 to 11:10 a.m. Saturday at
3333 S. Bristol St., Costa Mesa. The winner of 10 chefs will get a trip
to Italy, with the winning dish being featured on Maggiano’s menu through
October. Sales will benefit the Orange County affiliate of the Susan G.

2. Tired of starving at sea? Orange Coast College’s School of Sailing
and Seamanship will offer a “Cooking Afloat” workshop from 2 to 5 p.m.
Saturday at OCC’s Sailing Center, 1801 W. Pacific Coast Highway, Newport

3. Dribble, shoot and win. Hoop It Up, a three-on-three basketball
