Police responded to an attempted robbery Aug. 30 at Brierwood jewelry
store, in the 18000 block of Brookhurst Street in Fountain Valley.
According to the Fountain Valley Police Department, a boy entered the
store at 4:45 p.m. and asked several jewelry-related questions. Worried,
the jewelry store employee called authorities after seeing the boy enter
a vehicle that was later discovered to have been carjacked earlier that
day, police said. The vehicle was driven by a woman who was later
identified as 20-year-old Vera Miesha Dixon from Linwood, police said.
When Officer Ken Hounsley arrived at the scene and spotted the two
individuals, they fled on foot, discarding two handguns in the process,
police said. The two were caught and taken into custody, police said.
They were handed over to the Garden Grove Police Department for further
investigation.
Both suspects could be charged with conspiracy to commit attempted
robbery, police said. Dixon’s bail was set at $50,000. Police did not
release information about the boy because he is a minor.
