Marlins win CMNLL Majors title

COSTA MESA - The Costa Mesa National Little League Majors Division
Marlins shut out the Dodgers, 8-0, to win the division title June 12.
Mike Wolfe’s bases-loaded triple and Ryan Bagwell’s two-run home run
broke the game open for the Marlins.
Vinnie Valdez added two hits and an RBI, while Jeremy Spera added an RBI
single and Victor Valdez had two key hits.
On the mound Vinnie Valdez and Bagwell combined to allow only three hits
in the shutout.
The Marlins will next play in the District 62 Tournament of Champions
against Ocean View at Robinwood Park, beginning at 5 p.m.
Mariners top Rangers
COSTA MESA - The Mariners ended their season with a 15-8 win over
the Rangers in Costa Mesa American Little Coach Pitch Division action.
For the Rangers, Parker McPherson had two hits and an RBI as well as a
couple of strong defensive plays.
Also strong defensively was C.J. Arehart, Scotty Steffel and Nathan
McFarland and Alex Guder.
