Angels tops in Majors play

The Angels made their way to the top last weekend by winning the
Majors Division championship at Huntington Valley Little League, beating
the Mariners in two games to capture the overall title.
Angels 12, Mariners 5
Mitchel Queen hit a solo home run and also singled, Joe Byers and
Michael Hensley each had an RBI double, and Ricky Pineda and Frankie Mead
each had a pair of base hits to power the Angels.
For the Mariners, Peter Bryson went 3 for 3 with an RBI, Lucas
Aumiller went 2 for 4 with an RBI double, Matt McGwire had an RBI single,
Cory Sorenson doubled, and Nate Hills singled and scored one run.
Angels 9, Mariners 3
In wrapping up the championship, Ricky Pineda was a perfect 4 for 4,
Joe Byers doubled, tripled, and drove in two runs, Frankie Mead went 2
for 3 with a pair of RBI, Michael Hensley had a two-RBI single, Mitchel
Queen had an RBI single, Damion Loukas drove in two runs, and Michael
Jacinto singled and scored for the Halos.
Nate Hill and Cory Sorenson each went 2 for 3 with an RBI to lead the
Mariners, who also received a single and run scored by Chad Heberden and
Zack Steinway.
