AYSO Region 57: Blue Lightning goes undefeated in spring

NEWPORT BEACH - Team Blue Lightning from the AYSO Region 57

Division 4 Boys Recreational League finished the Spring 2000 season

undefeated.

The group played teams from Irvine, Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa and Long

Beach, knocking down all in its path.

The offense was keyed by Allen Hardison, Jeff Larsen, Derek Larsen and

Carl Waniek, who scored a combined 30 goals in seven games.

Strong midfield play was turned in by Bix Halford, Joey Blackwell, Clay

Knapp and Jeff Ruffalo, while the defense was led by Ryan Pawell,

Christian Morabito, Jeff Livingston and Nick Groke, with Ben Anshutz in

goal.
