Men’s tennis: Lions sweep past Oklahoma Christian

LEXINGTON, Kentucky - The Vanguard University men’s tennis team
defeated Oklahoma Christian University, 5-0, in the second round of the
NAIA Tennis Championships Tuesday.
Stefan Johansson and Olli Helminen knocked off OCU’s No. 1 doubles team,
8-3, while Peter Skrzeczynski and Josef Stromberg defeated OCU’s No. 2
team, 8-5.
Due to injuries to the rest of Oklahoma Christian’s squad, the other
three matches were defaulted to the Lions.
Vanguard will next face Golden State Athletic Conference-rival Azusa
Pacific today at 11 a.m local time.
APU defeated the Lions in the Region II final and is seeded third in the
tournament. However VU won both regular-season contests against the
Cougars.
