Angels rip Astros, 11-4

Justin Chambers struck out 13 in a complete game victory and also

had a big hit offensively Wednesday to help power the Angels to an 11-4

victory over the Astros in Ocean View Little League Majors Division

action.

Chambers hit a two-RBI single during a third inning outburst that also

included a two-RBI single by Kyle Marvin and an RBI single by Jeff

Hennes, as the Angels took control of the game in building a 7-0 lead.

Jon Grothe, who finished the day with three hits, had an RBI single in

the first inning to give the Angels their initial run.

Brian Hoops also had two hits for the winners.

The Astros’ highlights included a Dallas Walters home run -- his third of

the year -- and two doubles and two runs scored by Eric Jaso.

MINOR B DIVISION

Tigers 13, Red Sox 11

Curtis Mazelow came up with three hits, Ian Cable and Garrett Shinn each

had two hits, and Mazelow and Stephen Parker starred on defense as the

Tigers held off the Red Sox.

MINOR A DIVISION

Angels 31, Dodgers 1

Robbie Coutts pitched a one-hitter with six strikeouts, Matt Seymour

retired the side in the sixth inning to close out the victory, and every

Angel batter reached base safely and scored at least two runs.

Royals 7, Yankees 5

Chance Ross singled with an RBI, brothers Bryan and Brandon Visnoski,

Kovrosh Duvat, and Cam Fraser each had key hits, and pitchers Donald

Sneed and Cory Hamm combined to strike out six for the Royals.

Anthony Paterno had an RBI single and Derek Bauermeister and Ian Gould

both doubled for the Yankees.
