COSTA MESA -- Don’t flush this opportunity away.
The Mesa Consolidated Water District will give away 1,500 water-saving
toilets this Saturday.
For each flush, the Toto 703 toilets use only a quarter of the water of a
regular toilet.
The “ultralow-flush” toilets would save a family roughly 22,000 gallons
of water each year, according to water district estimates.
The toilets would normally cost more than $100, a water district
spokeswoman said.
Prospective toilet recipients must show a photo ID and old water bill.
Water district employees will hand out the toilets on a first-come,
first-served basis.
The Mesa Water District will hand out the toilets from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Saturday, April 29, at Estancia High School, 2323 Placentia Ave. Old
toilets must be returned to the same location from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on
Saturday, May 13.
