HB Surfer Chicks rally to tie Diamond Demons

There wasn’t enough time allotted Saturday to determine a winner
between the Diamond Demons and HB Surfer Chicks, so the two Huntington
Beach Fastpitch Softball rivals had to settle for an 8-8 tie in and
8-and-Under contest played at Edison Park.
The Diamond Demons seemed to get the upper hand in the seesaw battle when
Rachel Pasternak and Emily Hyams hit consecutive home runs to help their
team regain the lead, 8-7, in the top of the fourth inning.
The HB Surfer Chicks, however, responded with a single run in the bottom
of the frame to draw even, and the gave was then called due to time
limitations.
The hitting of Kristen Mattingly and Rachel Brown helped give the HB
Surfer Chicks and early 2-0 lead.
