Rebels rout Newport Mesa

Dana Van Voorhis and Laura Ginn each came up with season high

performances Sunday, and the North Huntington Beach Rebels had an easy

time of it with Newport Mesa, rolling to a 36-6 victory in National

Junior Basketball girls 6th-grade All-Net Blue Conference action.

Newport Mesa actually led, 2-0, but then the Rebels, behind the play of

Lindsey Schulze, Lauren Kortizija, and Erin Eskey, rolled to a 24-4

halftime lead.

Van Voorhis scored 11 points and Ginn gathered in 17 rebounds, both

season bests for each player.

the opening round victory in the postseason Championship Series. Ashley

Courtney’s eight points and six steals led the Martians in defeat.
