Volunteers will plant 65 trees on Costa Mesa High School’s campus
Saturday. The planting is the first this year for ReLeaf Costa Mesa, a
volunteer-based nonprofit organization.
California ReLeaf and the state Department of Forestry and Fire
Protection donated the trees, which will include pines, sweetgums and
several other species.
The group is looking for volunteers of all ages to help with the
planting. Organizers say volunteers don’t need experience, but should
wear work clothes and gloves. Refreshments will be served.
Interested tree-planters should meet at 9 a.m. Saturday at Costa Mesa
High School, 2650 Fairview Road.
In the event of rain, the planting will be postponed until March 11.
