AYSO Region 57: Tidal Waves split weekend action

COSTA MESA - The Tidal Waves, an AYSO Region 57 girls under 10 gold

all-star team defeated Costa Mesa, 6-1, before dropping a 2-1 decision to

North Irvine last weekend.

In the win over Costa Mesa, Emily Hillgren and Claire Schloemer each

scored two goals, while single goals were scored by Juliane Piggot and

Alex Tobiessen.

Goalkeeper Jessica Poulsen had numerous saves for the Tidal Waves,

allowing only one goal, scored by Costa Mesa’s Stacey McDaniels.

In the loss to North Irvine, Hillgren scored the lone Tidal Waves’ goal

off an assist from Taylor Jones.

Kimmy Von der Ahe, Colleen Heyler, Chelsea Dalton and Su-Yin Bickner

controlled the midfield, while Lindsay Seeley, Rachel Parker, Alison

Luke, Courtney Heard and Leah Zarian led the defense.
