Briefly in education

Nine OCC employees have been nominated for the college’s Staff Member of

the Year award.

The winner will be announced today and honored at a ceremony set for 1

p.m. March 14 in the college’s Student Center.

The award, which is being presented for the 10th year, is sponsored by

OCC’s Academic Senate. The nine staff members were nominated by their

colleagues and students.

This year’s nominees are: Linda Hehn, a senior secretary in the fine arts

division; Leslie Henninger, an instructional course assistant in the

science lecture halls; Joe Knor, a stock clerk in OCC’s machine shop;

Axel Mena, supervisor for OCC’s Hoag Multimedia Laboratory; T.J. Nguyen,

office coordinator in the counseling division; Ann Nicholson, staff

assistant in the transfer center; Harriet Ouellette, administrative

secretary in the literature languages division; Aldeheid “Pony” Stevens,

administrative program assistant in the consumer and health sciences

division; and Deborah Wisner, coordinator in the job placement office.
