COMPUTER CLASSES
The Huntington Beach Adult School is offering computer classes this month
for senior citizens on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15 to 5:15 p.m. at
various sites in Fountain Valley and Huntington Beach.
Classes include Prebeginning Computers, for people with no experience,
Internet for Seniors, and Beginning Windows & Word.

MILLENNIUM MILER
Edison High School will present a jog/walk-a-thon to benefit
developmentally disabled students.
The Millennium Miler Jog/Walk-A-Thon will be held from 10:15 a.m. to
12:15 p.m. Tuesday.
Organizers said they expect 80 to 100 students to participate.
The event will raise money to buy classroom audio speakers for the
Special Abilities Cluster education program, whose students use speakers
for activities three to four hours a day.
The activities include aerobics, weight lifting and relaxation techniques
set to music.
The Special Abilities Cluster program provides disabled students with
basic life, job and social skills.
The main organizer of the project is Edison High School senior Kerry
Stewert.

YMCA OPPORTUNITIES
The West County Family YMCA is running an after-school program for local
teens. Program activities include homework, tutoring, computer labs,
sports and field trips.
The after-school program is run from 2:35 to 6 p.m. Monday through
Friday. The program costs $25 per week, or $7 per day. The program is run
out of Dwyer Middle School.
Parents can register at the West County YMCA main office at 777 Edinger
