COSTA MESA - Orange Coast College took control early and easily
handled visiting Fullerton, 77-42, Friday night in Orange Empire
Conference women’s basketball.
A 16-0 run early in the game gave the Pirates a 19-3 lead and never
looked back.
Shauna Steward led the Pirates (24-3, 8-3 in conference) with 20 points,
while Leah Wilde added 17 points and eight rebounds.
The Pirates outrebounded the Hornets, 69-39, led by Sarah Middlebrooke
(13) and Melissa Lewis (11).
Missy Bynon led the Hornets (18-13, 3-7) with 11 points and seven
rebounds.
OCC explosive start carried throughout the first half, as the Pirates
led, 46-19, at intermission.
Orange Coast will host Irvine Valley Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
