Women’s basketball: Lions rock Cal Baptist

RIVERSIDE - Becki Huddle had 22 points, five rebounds and four
assists to lead Vanguard University to a 75-64 Golden State Athletic
Conference win over host Cal Baptist in women’s basketball action
Thursday night.
After falling behind, 35-30, in the first half, the Lions, ranked No. 13
by the NAIA, outscored the Lancers, 45-29, to pull away.
Laura Lee chipped in with 19 points, while Kelly Boeke added 11 for the
Lions.
Vanguard shot 47% (8 for 17) from three-point range, while Cal Baptist
was held to 23% (3 for 13).
Dawn Cason led the Lancers with 14 points, while Melissa Marshall added
10.
Vanguard will travel to Fresno to take on Fresno Pacific Saturday at 5:30
p.m.
