Fountain Valley continues hot streak

The Fountain Valley 6th-grade boys All-Net team has turned its
season around in the past month, going from a 0-4 beginning, to running
its win streak to four games.
Sunday in National Junior Basketball action, Fountain Valley claimed its
fourth consecutive victim by routing Placentia, 45-20, at Fountain Valley
High.
Brian Bissonette led Fountain Valley, now 4-4, with 13 points.

DIVISION 3
Bulls 42, Sonics 19
The Bulls handed the first-place Sonics their first loss of the season in
a stunning upset. Freddie Pepper scored a game-best 15 points to go along
with five steals and four rebounds, Russell Westphal had six points, five
assists, six rebounds, and five steals, and Buster Gallegos (six points,
four steals) and Daeniel Francisco tied for team-high rebouning honors
with seven each, to power the winners.
Hornets 30, Sonics 27
Kevin Kuwahara scored seven of his game-high 11 points in the decisive
fourth quarter, Ryan McNicol iced the game with a clutch free throw with
18 seconds remaining, and Matt Emptying led a strong defensive effort by
the Hornets with five steals.

DIVISION 2
Bruins 48, Kings 18
Brian Cranmer and Timmy Mahoney combined for 25 points and Justin
Chambers and Adam Pierce combined to block 15 shots as the Bruins stunned
the previously unbeaten Kings, leaving both teams tied for first place at
6-1. Nick Becker’s eight points led the Kings.
