NEW OUTREACH TACTIC
Golden West College is greeting the new year with a new marketing
campaign that includes what is believed to be the first interactive
CD-ROM produced by an Orange County community college.
The campaign is intended to promote the vast opportunities available to
students who take advantage of the college’s many programs, said Margie
Bunten, a college spokeswoman. In addition to illustrating the value of a
Golden West education, the “Oceans of Opportunity” campaign also
highlights the college’s Huntington Beach location. With the interactive
CD-ROM, potential students can use a computer to view a four-minute
video, connect to the campus Web site, or to view photographs and read
more about the college’s academic programs, athletic tradition and fine
and performing arts environment. The CD also comes with printable forms,
such as admission and financial aid applications. The CD and other
informational materials are available to prospective students from the
college’s outreach office, which can be reached at 895-8144. The office
also provides personalized tours of the Huntington Beach campus.
