AYSO Region 120: Matrix hold their own in first tourney

COSTA MESA - The Matrix, an AYSO Region 120 Boys U12 all-star team

competed in their first all-star tourney at the Costa Mesa Classic on New

Years Day.

In game one, the Matrix lost to Tustin, 3-1, with their lone goal coming

on a shot from Austin Evett.

Game two was a 3-0 win for the Matrix over Irvine. Goals came from Gandby

nave, Luis Andrade and Garrett McMasters, with a key assist coming from

Christian Medina.

Despite a 1-0 loss to South Irvine in game three, strong defensive play

was turned in by Shawn Engmann, Christian Medina, Cody Waldron and

goalies Thomas Kosnosky and Kyle Thorsness.

Strong tournament play was turned in by Steven Brown, German Higadera,

Nickolas Juarez, Kennith Zich, Luis Cozza and Gandhy Nava.
