ISSUE: COMPUTER PURCHASE
VOTE: 5-0
SUMMARY: The board approved the purchase of computers through Gateway
2000.
The state’s Department of General Services has entered into a contract
with Gateway to provide public entities the ability to purchase
standardized computer equipment.
Approval of the recommendation enabled the district to place orders
for computers and software in excess of the $50,000 bid limit without
incurring the administrative costs and delays normally associated with
preparing and evaluating a formal bid.
