Girls basketball: Eagles soar past Downey

PLACENTIA - Lauren Cassity had 23 points to lead Estancia High’s

girls basketball team past Downey, 50-32, in the second day of pool play

matchups at the El Dorado Tournament.

The Eagles (2-1) jumped out to a commanding 24-12 lead at halftime and

cruised to victory.

The Eagles will next play Corona High in third-day pool play action

Friday at 3 p.m. at El Dorado High.
