SAN LUIS OBISPO - Sarah Littlebrooke scored a game-high 22 points
and Orange Coast College teammate Erin Tomlinson added 19 to help the
Pirates earn an 84-54 women’s basketball triumph over Monterey Peninsula
in the first round of the Cuesta Tournament Thursday.
Kristen Urban, a freshman from Newport Harbor High, contributed 13 points
to the victory, which included sterling defense by Middlebrook and Leah
Wilde.
Melissa Lewis had 13 rebounds and eight points, while Shauna Steward had
seven assists to go with her three points for the winners.
OCC (7-1 and ranked No. 2 in the latest state poll) advances to tonight’s
6 o’clock semifinals against Taft.
Monterey Peninsula fell to 6-2.
