Real estate executive Don Saltarelli stepped into the role of Orange
County Fair Board president last week after being elected to a one-year
term.
Saltarelli, an Orange resident, was appointed to the board in 1997. The
Penn State grad is president of Tustin-based Century 21 Saltarelli
Realty. He has served on the Orange County Board of Supervisors and the
Tustin City Council.
Saltarelli, who served as vice president the past year, succeeds
Huntington Beach’s Emily Sanford.
Jim Barich was also elected to serve as the board’s vice president for
the coming year. Barich was appointed last year and is senior vice
president of public affairs for Hollywood Park Race Track in Inglewood.
Barich also worked for the Irvine Co. and for the late U.S. Rep. Glenn
Anderson.
Board members serve four-year terms without pay. They are responsible for
setting policy for the Fair and ExpositionCenter.-- Elise Gee
