Tattoo fundraiser offers ink for a cause in Costa Mesa

Gold Rush Tattoo in Costa Mesa offered some special ink Saturday as it hosted a fundraiser for the Down Syndrome Assn. of Orange County.

Starting at noon, visitors could choose from a selection of specially priced skin adornments. A portion of the proceeds will go to the association, which promotes Down syndrome awareness and offers programs, services and support for people with Down syndrome and their families.

The tattoo offerings included three-arrow designs symbolizing the three copies of Chromosome 21 that people with Down syndrome have.
