Animal lovers took on a 5K obstacle course and fun run Saturday in Huntington Beach to raise money to help protect endangered species.
The “Race Against Extinction” was held in honor of Endangered Species Day.
Participants chose an organization they wanted to support, such as the Bolsa Chica Conservancy or the Pacific Marine Mammal Center, and half their registration price went toward the cause.
The runners competed for prizes such as pet portraits, cruise tickets and gift cards.
