Woman dies after being hit by car while crossing street in Huntington Beach

A 58-year-old Huntington Beach woman was killed Thursday night when she was struck by an SUV while walking across Goldenwest Street in Huntington Beach, police said.
Police responded to Goldenwest and Tucana Drive at 7:43 p.m. after receiving a report of a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian, Sgt. Julio Mendez said.
Based on officers’ preliminary investigation, a silver Nissan Rogue was traveling north on Goldenwest when it struck the woman, who was walking east, Mendez said.
The Nissan driver, a 55-year-old Huntington Beach resident, remained at the scene and cooperated with police, authorities said. No one was arrested.
The pedestrian’s name was not released.
