Motorcyclist killed in Costa Mesa crash identified as Lake Forest man

Orange County coroner’s officials on Thursday identified a motorcyclist killed a day earlier in a crash in Costa Mesa as a 63-year-old Lake Forest man.

Eugene Flaro was pronounced dead at 8:52 a.m. Wednesday after a crash with a BMW sedan on Airway Avenue near Lear Avenue, officials said.

Police said a motorcycle and a white BMW collided while traveling on Airway Avenue at about 8:50 a.m.

The 24-year-old driver of the sedan remained at the scene. No arrests were made.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash. Anyone with additional information is asked to call traffic investigator Darren Wood at (714) 754-5264.
