OCC cheer team takes first place

The Orange Coast College cheerleading team took first place at a recent competition in Florida, according to a news release.
The Costa Mesa school won a coed division at the 34th National Cheerleaders Assn. & National Dance Alliance Collegiate Cheer and Dance Championships, held April 9 to 13 in Daytona Beach.
“This is our second time to win this division, but our third win in three years,” Coach Mike Reynolds said in a prepared statement.
OCC’s cheer and dance teams have won a total of more than 75 national titles in 19 years, according to a news release.
