A Costa Mesa woman was robbed at gunpoint this week as she walked home from Orange Coast College, according to police.
About 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, the 32-year-old victim was walking in the 1100 block of El Camino Drive in Costa Mesa when a man approached her from behind and asked for the time, Costa Mesa police spokesman Lt. Greg Scott said.
“The suspect then pointed a black handgun at her and stole a rolling bag from her,” he said.
The bag reportedly contained textbooks, a purse and a wallet.
After taking the bag, the suspect got into a black four-door sedan driven by another man, Scott said, and the two drove west on El Camino Drive.
Police described the robber as a black man in his mid-20s, 5-feet-5 to 5-feet-10-inches tall, with a thin to medium build and dark hair.
