Irvine police search for missing boy, 12

Irvine police asked for the public’s help Tuesday in finding a missing 12-year-old boy, police said in an announcement.

Irvine police were first contacted about 10 p.m. Monday about Kyva Roberson being missing from his home near Deerfield Avenue and Culver Drive, police said.

Family members last saw Roberson on Monday afternoon when he was sent to his room to be disciplined, and they told police he may have run away.

Irvine police learned that Roberson saw a neighbor friend about 3:30 p.m. Monday, and the pair went to a McDonald’s near Culver and Irvine Center drives about 7 p.m., police said.

Roberson’s whereabouts are unknown. Police said Roberson does not have access to money or a cell phone, police said.

He is likely still in the Irvine area, and is described as 4 feet 8 inches tall, 80 pounds, and was last seen wearing jeans, a navy blue jacket and an Orlando Magic baseball cap, police said. He has an Australian accent.

Anyone with information is asked to call (949) 724-7200.
