Kids’ lemonade sales bring in $100 for veterans group

El Morro Elementary School students selling lemonade on Veteran’s Day raised more than $100 for Patriotic Hearts.
The veterans-support organization was founded by former Laguna resident Mark Baird. Its community program HirePatriots.com aims to create a nationwide support system and employment safety net for veterans.
The group has received the Congressional Medal of Merit and the President’s Volunteer Service Medal for its work helping veterans by providing marriage retreats, job fairs and welcome-home parties.
