Letters: Taken to the cleaners by AMC

Re “Get a film discount, then pay extra,” Column, June 4
Those discounted AMC movie tickets purchased in bulk at Costco are definitely no longer the deal that they once were. Films in 3-D and Imax projections always required an extra charge above the Costco price, but I did not think AMC would tack on a $2 surcharge for ordinary screenings.
AMC may be operating under the idea that the way to make up for the revenue lost because of declining attendance is to charge loyal, dependable customers even more. At some point, even the most avid film buffs will balk at the prices and take their business elsewhere.
Why do they have to take us to the cleaners ?
