Authorities on Monday identified a 34-year-old West Hollywood man who was allegedly stabbed to death by his roommate.
Deputies responded Saturday evening to the victim’s apartment complex in the 900 block of Palm Avenue to conduct a welfare check, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
When deputies arrived, they were told that the “individual who lived at the location may have killed his roommate and was thinking about killing himself,” department officials said in a statement.

Deputies forced their way into the apartment and found a man mortally wounded with stab wounds on the kitchen floor, authorities said. He was identified Monday as Kurtland Ma.
The department said that Andre Damiane Davids, 36, was arrested on suspicion of stabbing the victim. He was being held at County Jail in lieu of $1-million bail, according to online booking records.
Since January 2007, at least nine other homicides have been reported in West Hollywood, according to The Times Homicide Report database. Seven of the victims died from gunshot wounds.
