Sword- and bat-wielding assailants attack two men in Bellflower park

One man armed with an aluminum bat and another with a sword slashed and beat two other men in a Bellflower park following an argument Thursday night, authorities said.
One of the assailants remains on the loose.
The attack left one victim with a cut on his forehead and the other with a broken right arm, said Sgt. Bob Boese of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, which is investigating the attack.
Both victims were transported to a local hospital, where they were listed in stable condition.
The incident began when deputies received a 911 call about 10:40 p.m. about an assault with a deadly weapon at Caruthers Park, in the 10500 block of Flora Vista Street, authorities said. Deputies arrived and found the two victims but neither of the suspects.
The men told the deputies they had been in an argument and were attacked. One of the attackers had an 18-inch sword and the other an aluminum baseball bat, Boese said.
Deputies canvassed the area and arrested one of the suspects. But the other man remains at large.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Lakewood sheriff’s station at (562) 523-3500.
