Hiker rescued in Hollywood Hills

Los Angeles firefighters Sunday airlifted to a hospital a hiker who was injured or became ill in the Hollywood Hills, officials said.
The hiker was in serious condition, said Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Paramedics were summoned to the area of 3050 Runyon Canyon Road at 12:11 p.m., Scott said. A helicopter crew used a hoist to rescue the hiker, he said.
The identity of hiker and other details were not immediately available.
