An autopsy was planned Thursday for a man’s body that was discovered by hikers in Griffith Park.
Los Angeles County coroner’s officials said the body appeared to be that of a Latino man in his 40s and that a cause of death had not yet been determined.
The Los Angeles Fire Department said two hikers found the body Wednesday in a remote area of the park. Firefighters removed it from rugged canyon terrain.
An officer at the LAPD’s Northeast Station, which encompasses Griffith Park, said detectives arrived on the scene about 3 p.m.
